Flagpole Materials
Flagpole Foundations & Styles
A permanent installation where the flagpole sleeve is set directly into a below-grade concrete foundation—delivering maximum stability with a clean, traditional appearance.
Manufactured with a metal “shoe” (base plate) that’s bolted to a concrete foundation—ideal when you want easier future pole replacement without starting from scratch.
A hinged base design that allows the pole to be safely lowered to ground level for maintenance or flag changes—great where climbing access or lift equipment is limited.
Mounted straight up against a building facade—perfect for locations where ground installation space isn’t available but a traditional vertical display is still desired.
A nautical-inspired setup with a horizontal yardarm and angled gaff so you can display multiple flags. Often used for government, maritime, and historic locations; double-masted options are available in aluminum or fiberglass for a true nautical look.
Mounted at an angle from a building or structure to project outward, helping the flag stay visible and fly freely when there’s no space for a ground-mounted pole (commonly 30°, 45°, or 60° angles).
External & Internal Flagpoles
External flagpoles feature a traditional design where the rope runs on the outside of the pole, fed through a pulley and tied to a cleat. This makes external flagpoles simple to operate with fewer parts and lower maintenance needs. They are typically more affordable than internal systems but are best suited for environments that don’t require controlled access.

Internal flagpoles route the rope or cable inside the pole, operated through a cam or winch system. Internal systems are best suited for controlled access environments, such as government buildings, secure campuses, or where a cleaner appearance is desired. The rope is hidden, offering a sleeker look, and the system is locked to ensure that only authorized personnel can lower the flag.

Winch System
Operated using a hand-crank, often with stainless steel cable. It offers smooth operation and is often used for larger flagpoles or higher installations where greater control is needed.

Flagpole Lighting
In accordance with flag display guidelines, flags should be lit when flown after sundown, and we strongly recommend hardwired flagpole lighting to maintain proper presentation year-round. We also offer solar lighting to accommodate sites where trenching or electrical access is limited, making it easier to achieve a compliant, professional look in a wider range of conditions. While we supply and install lighting fixtures, any required electrical or hardwired connections must be completed by a licensed electrician, since we do not perform electrical wiring services.
