What are they used for?

Ceremonial banners are a unique category of their own, and include products such as gonfalons, parade banners, indoor banners, and podium banners. They have a wide variety of settings where they can be used, ranging from parades, graduations, gymnasiums, churches, award ceremonies, conferences, and other indoor spaces for various occasions.

Gonfalons

Gonfalons are commonly used for college graduation ceremonies. These banners typically feature a pointed or otherwise specially-shaped bottom edge, and are meant to be grandiose and ornamental in appearance. They can be finished in a wide variety of materials and in a multitude of finishing styles.

Hardware

Gonfalons are typically made with a 3” flat pole pocket along the top, which is then slid over a crossbar.

• The crossbar features a solid brass eyelet that attaches to a solid brass hook installed on a standard indoor/parade pole.
• A cord and tassel is added to form a decorative triangle on the top of the pole.
• The pole is typically either 8’ or 9’ tall depending on the height of the gonfalon. (Other Sizes Available.)
• Various finials are available to adorn the top of the pole, but a spear is standard.

All gonfalons used for processions are finished with a backliner that features Velcro loops which ensure the gonfalon will remain secured to the pole.

Parade Banners

Parade banners are horizontal banners that showcase organizations, schools, charities, or causes during community events. These banners can be customized in size to fit the carriers and setting. Parade banners are fabricated using various materials and print techniques, while decorative details, such as fringe or shaped bottom edges, can also be added for extra impact. INDOOR BANNERS

Indoor banners include various styles that typically hang on walls, from ceilings, or on podiums and pulpits. Wall-mounted styles are usually single-sided with backliners and grommets, while ceiling-hung versions often use pole pockets for double-sided viewing. Podium banners are built like smaller gonfalons, with a crossbar, decorative end caps, and cord and tassel for a polished look. Dye Sublimation Fabrics

Dye sub fabrics come in a large range of options, including cost-conscious poly poplin, mid-range heavy knit, and premium materials like nirvana. Based on the budget and needs of each customer, our team is able to guide you to the right material for your project. Samples are available by request.

Nylon

Nylon is the primary material used for appliquéd banners. It is lightweight yet durable, easy to work with, and holds its color well, making it an excellent choice for banners that need both longevity and flexibility for updates.

Applique

• Mid-range option that combines durability with a handcrafted look
• Ideal for gonfalons and gymnasium banners that require updates year after year

Twill & Nylon

Twill is a tightly woven fabric, known for its durability and elegant finish. Twill is exclusively reserved for embroidered banners. Nylon is also a base that can be a more cost effective option.

• Offers a timeless, hand-crafted look with unmatched detail

Shapes & Edges

Gonfalons · Parade Banners · Indoor Banners - All ceremonial banners are fully customizable in both shape and finish. Pole hems can be designed with staggered cutouts to reveal the crossbar, while bottom edges offer the most variety—ranging from triangular or inverted points, rounded, pear-shaped, castle brick, or even a completely unique combination.
