What are they used for?

Over-the-Street (OTS) banners are a special type of banner that is meant to be installed over a main street in a community. To many drivers passing through town, and to locals alike, they evoke a sense of nostalgia that delivers a “wow” factor. Frequently used to bring awareness to seasonal events such as the county fair or major town gatherings and celebrations, OTS banners are effective, unoffensive advertising that’s sure to make your town, church, or business stand out above the rest!

What we offer?

Over-the-Street banners are typically double-sided in order to ensure your design will not be missed from either direction. Typically, these banners are printed on 22 oz. vinyl or 90/10 double-sided mesh. We also provide all the necessary finishing options to ensure your banners meet all expected standards of safety and durability.

  • 70/30 & 80/20 are the standard choices for meshbanners on large format applications displayed onbuildings, fences, and railings
  • 50/50 & 60/40 are the best options for delicatestructures such as temporary fencing, scaffolding, andconstruction sites
  • 90/10 is required for double-sided mesh. This option ismost often used with over-the-street banners

Grommets are metal-reinforced holes placed along the banner edges. They are the most common finishing option, allowing for easy hanging with ropes, zip ties, or hooks.

Webbing is a seatbelt-like material, used to reinforce banner edges. This helps keep grommets from ripping out, and provides additional strength to banners.

Wind vents are reinforced cuts made in the banner to allow wind to pass through. Used for high wind areas and on large vinyl.

Rope Heading is a length of rope sewn into the banner edge for added strength. It’s ideal for larger banners or installs requiring extra tension.

ADDITIONAL INFO

OTS banners are typically installed on either existing utility poles or on specialized banner poles, almost always via a cabling system. Two steel cables run along the top and bottom of the banner, allowing quick links (carabiner clips) to marry the cable to each grommet in the banner.
